Southwest Florida have a variety of activities that you can do while visiting. It is a great area for any age group no matter what your taste is. The beaches are some of the best in the world. There is so many things that goes on in the area, such as craft and art fairs that they will actually close down streets for a couple of days. During certain times there are block parties that are alot of fun also. In February, we have the Edison Festival of Lights Parade that includes many people from other parts of the country in it. It is a great parade that is in honor of the man that invented so many things and helped the area grow. His home is a wonderful attraction to see along with another one of his neighbors home, the Ford Estate. Henry Ford came to the area so that he could be close to his friend, Thomas Edison. The street that they lived on is lined with Royal Palms and is one way you can also go to Ft. Myers Beach and other area beaches such as Sanibel Island and Captiva Island. There are alot of different things that the beaches offer. You can go fishing, para sailing, jet skis, bicycling, collecting shells, eat at any of the many restaurants located right on the water or stay at a hotel that is right on the water. Or if you are into fishing, there are many charter boats that will take you out and fish for snapper or grouper or a variety of other game fish. You can also get on the "Big M" which is a floating casino that is alot of fun and can be very profitable.
So why don't you pick Southwest Florida as your next vacation spot. First, unless you don't have either family or friends to stay with there are plenty of beautiful hotels to stay. Some of the beach area hotels are The Pink Shell,, The Diamondhead Resort, or even The Best Western just to name a few that are all located out at Ft. Myers Beach. Or you can go to Sanibel there is the Sundial or Captiva Island there is the Captiva Island Inn . Or if you don't want to stay right on the water, there is the Crowne Plaza at or the LaQuinta Inn or any of the many other hotels in the area.
Maybe you and your family would like to see places such as the Shell Factory that can amaze you for hours with all of the many different shells from all over. They also have a mini zoo area for kids of all ages. You can also visit Sunsplash that is located in Cape Coral, Or you can travel south to Naples that has lots of things to offer such as the Naples Zoo, or visit the Naples Philharmonic Center for the Arts. Or if you are interested in the greyhounds, visit the track and place your bets on not only the dogs, but they show the horse races also in via television. Or if you would like to do fun things with the kids, both young and old, and are into go carts, batting cages, or paintball you can visit Mike Greenwell's out in north Cape Coral. There are just so many things to list. So the best thing to do is Come on down to Paradise and see for yourself.
